The term Neezer is an affectionate, shortened form of Havanese.

The Cascade Havanese Clubwas started on June 14 2003 to promote awareness of the Havanese breed and address breed quality and health issues; to be a resource for new owners; to be a resource for breeders; to focus on having fun!!!; to provide judge's education of the breed; to be a voice for the Havanese breed in the NW; to have specialties; to have social activities; to provide health notifications about the breed; to provide referrals; to promote sportsmanship among exhibitors, breeders and owners; to communicate Havanese issues through a club newsletter; to share information about nutrition for Havanese; to have supportive entries at shows; to have a club web site; to popularize the club; to coordinate efforts among club members to ensure when we attend out-of-state shows we will have enoug entries to obtain a major making the effort worthwhile.

We are well on our way to achieve many of these goals as the club grows and matures. It is through the dedication of each of you that this is possible. Our love for our Havanese has brought us together to form this club and work together as team members to achieve the goals we have purposed on that initial day, June 14 2003 and subscribed to in the club's constitution and bylaws. We must strive to maintain a balance of responsible dog service and having fun enjoying life. We are so blessed to be entrusted with such wonderful dogs and being able to develop such great friendships within our club.
